What will you do as a Bookkeeper?
Bookkeepers play a crucial role in tracking all income and payments, as well as keeping businesses compliant with tax deadlines and regulations.
While the specific tasks will vary from one firm to the next, our Bookkeepers typically take ownership of:
Records-keeping
Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
Payroll
Calculate pay and deductions, manage payroll accounts and suggest process improvements.
Trial balance
Bring the books to the trial balance stage.
Budget monitoring and monthly reports
Calculate pay and deductions, manage payroll accounts and suggest process improvements.
Tax
Complete tax forms and respond to tax queries.
Ledger management
Verify transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers’ ledger, customer ledger and general ledger.
Accounts payable and receivable
Process accounts accurately and promptly, and follow up on invoices.
Data entry and reporting
Enter data and create reports and financial statements.

+ Degree
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Accounting Technology, Finance or a relevant discipline.
+ Software
Hands-on experience with spreadsheets, MS Office and accounting software.
+ Certifications
Good to have: Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping.
+ Data entry
Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
+ Experience
Proven work experience as a bookkeeper.
+ Traits
A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
