New technology and nature presented different challenges, making 2025 a year of learning to accept the unexpected and adapt.
What a valuable opportunity that turned out to be.
At our Year-End Parties, the accountants, bookkeepers, and other professionals who accomplished the most in their learning programs received special awards. So did those who have worked with TOA Global for five or 10 years.
“Our success is because of your success,” said TOA Global Founder Nick Sinclair at the Year-End Party for TOA Global Clark on Friday, December 5.
“Thank you for all you do all year round. We know you have choices. We are so, so happy to have you working with us because we’ll keep growing.”
Our 2025 Highlights Included:
Continuity assured, with empathy: Four typhoons from April-July prompted the Province of Pampanga, where Clark belongs, to declare a state of calamity in late July. Heavy rain had made it more difficult for our employees to travel to or from the office for weeks on end, but they kept showing up.
For our team in Cebu, nature’s challenges began on September 30. A magnitude 6.9 earthquake shook the island and caused thousands of aftershocks in the weeks that followed. Six weeks later, Typhoon Tino (international name: Kalmaegi) crossed Cebu Island.
“Thank you for being responsive, for reconnecting, for supporting each other,” TOA Global CEO Jeremy Clements wrote to the team after Typhoon Uwan (international name: Fung-wong) in mid-November affected all sites, but especially in Clark and Tarlac.
“We see the resilience and care in how you and your colleagues are behaving.”
Industry recognition for our cybersecurity: In 2025, TOA Global achieved SOC 2 Type 2 compliance, which confirms the business has met the information systems standards enforced by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
This confirmation that our privacy and security controls are reliable and well-designed is timely. Artificial Intelligence has made work easier, and accounting is no exception, yet AI has also increased the risks of cyberattacks.
New learning technology and opportunities: In 2025, our training team launched a new learning platform. From onboarding and throughout their TOA Global career, employees enjoy access to courses, both instructor-led and on-demand, so they can sharpen their technical skills and stay updated in a fast-changing profession.
Our leaders in the Philippines also secured a partnership with the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) Asia Pacific office. This offers TOA employees discounts on IMA membership fees and special rates for the prestigious Certified Management Accountant program.
Global Interest Groups launched: Everyone has a cause they care for beyond work. This year, we launched Global Interest Groups (GIGs) to bring together colleagues who love sports, performing arts, or making an impact.
Our Action GIG, which focuses on advocacy and volunteering opportunities, organized relief operations in Cebu just days after the September 30 quake, as well as the first weekend after Typhoon Tino.
Awards for engagement and leadership: It felt great to receive recognition from the institutions we look up to, who gave us these awards:
- A Great Place to Work certification, with 94% of employees confirming they have all the resources they need to do a great job and 93% saying they are treated fairly.
- A Bronze Award for Excellence in Employee Engagement at the 2025 HR Excellence Awards.
- The LGBTQ+ Leader of the Year Award for Bam Terol, our Project Management Office Director, at the Philippine Financial and Inter-Industry Pride’s Bahaghari Awards.
- Three Asia Corporate Excellence and Sustainability (ACES) Awards: 2025 Industry Champions of the Year, Inspiring Workplaces in Asia, and Asia’s Most Inspiring Executives, for TOA Global Philippines President and Country Manager Adrian “Ian” Zafra.
Accounting careers with work-life balance and wellbeing:
We believe the best career opportunities in accounting combine good pay and benefits, clear career development paths, learning, and work-life balance.
In addition to the new GIGs, our enhanced Wellbeing Program gave TOA Global employees the chance to practice their favorite sports and hobbies; meet fellow enthusiasts; and learn about new ways to care for their overall health.
Our engagement highlights for the year included:
- Sportsfest: This much-anticipated annual program attracted 1,200 players across 10 sports disciplines, including badminton, basketball, bowling, volleyball, and Mobile Legends.
- Remote Unplugged: Our get-together in October for fully remote employees based in Luzon.
- Wellbeing Webinars: Our virtual and in-person classes on preventing hypertension, achieving financial freedom, becoming a better parent, practicing meditation or art therapy, and embracing your inner child.
