We are seeking a client-focused, highly technical Senior Tax Accountant to manage a diverse portfolio of Australian business clients, small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs), and family groups. Reporting directly to the Manager and operating 100% remotely during daytime business hours, you will serve as a key technical leader—conducting rigorous file reviews, mentoring junior staff, liaising directly with clients on complex tax matters, and providing proactive support on strategic business advisory projects.

Your Impact

• Workpaper Review & Quality Assurance: Review completed tax returns, financial statements, and compliance workpapers prepared by graduate, junior, and intermediate team members to ensure technical accuracy and firm standards.

• Portfolio & Client Relationship Management: Manage multiple client portfolios across diverse industries; serve as the primary point of contact for complex technical tax queries and strategic tax planning.

• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Train, coach, and mentor junior accountants to foster their professional growth, enhance file quality, and improve delivery workflows.

• Advisory Support & Manager Collaboration: Provide proactive support to Managers on high-level business advisory projects, financial performance reviews, and strategic consulting engagements.

What You Bring

• The Experience: 3 to 5 years of solid experience within an Australian public practice or professional accounting firm environment.

• Technical Tax Mastery: Deep expertise in Australian tax legislation, statutory compliance rules, accounting standards, and tax strategies across multi-entity client structures (companies, trusts, partnerships, sole traders).

• Leadership & Relationship Skills: Proven experience reviewing work, mentoring team members, and building strong, trusted relationships directly with client stakeholders.

• Core Competencies: Exceptional technical research capabilities, sharp problem-solving skills, high attention to detail, and superior written and verbal English communication.
