Unlock Your Potential!
At TOA Global, we have a deep commitment to empowering individuals to excel in their enterprises, careers, and communities. Our global footprint stretches across Australia, New Zealand, North America, and the Philippines, supporting our global clients across the accounting, finance, and professional services industries.
We are seeking a detail-oriented, resourceful Staff Accountant to support US tax planning, state sales tax, and full-charge bookkeeping for a dynamic US accounting firm. You will prepare individual and business tax returns, compile pre-meeting tax planning workpapers, manage state sales tax filings, and maintain accurate QBO/QBD client ledgers. In this role, you will leverage Karbon workflow management and digital automation tools to deliver precise, timely financial reports with minimal rework.
Your Impact
Tax Planning & Return Preparation: Prepare individual and business US tax returns and compile tax planning workpapers ahead of annual client strategy meetings, maintaining a target of less than 15% manager rework.
Sales Tax Compliance: Build sales tax spreadsheets, prepare state sales tax returns, and execute timely online submissions prior to scheduled state due dates.
Bookkeeping & Bank Reconciliations: Perform initial data entry and transaction categorization in QuickBooks Online and Desktop, conducting proactive research on historical data before escalating categorization queries.
Payroll Reconciliations & Journal Entries: Post monthly payroll journal entries for full-service bookkeeping clients, ensuring payroll tax reports match general ledger financial statements.
Monthly Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly financial statement packages—including Profit & Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statements—within allotted Karbon budget times.
Workflow Management: Manage assigned tasks and work cards within Karbon, accurately tracking billable hours and adhering to firm completion targets.
What You Bring
The Experience: At least 1 year of hands-on US bookkeeping and accounting experience within a US public accounting or BPO firm, managing multiple client accounts simultaneously.
Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related business field.
Software Mastery: Required proficiency in Karbon (workflow management), QuickBooks Online (QBO), and QuickBooks Desktop (QBD). Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and modern accounting automation tools.
Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of US tax preparation, state sales tax filing procedures, bank reconciliations, payroll journal entries, and financial statement compilation.
Core Competencies: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, high numeric accuracy, proactive problem-solving ability, and strong time management habits.
