Unlock Your Potential!

At TOA Global, we have a deep commitment to empowering individuals to excel in their enterprises, careers, and communities. Our global footprint stretches across Australia, New Zealand, North America, and the Philippines, supporting our global clients across the accounting, finance, and professional services industries.

We are looking for a highly technical and disciplined Senior SMSF Accountant who thrives in the compliance-driven world of Self-Managed Superannuation Funds. In this role, you will take complete ownership of an international portfolio of SMSF clients, preparing detailed financial statements, annual returns, and critical regulatory documentation while ensuring absolute alignment with Australian superannuation laws and ATO benchmarks. Operating autonomously in a remote setup, this position is engineered for a seasoned professional who knows BGL Simple Fund 360 inside out and takes immense pride in delivering clean, complex, and instantly audit-ready portfolios.

Your Impact

  • Funds in Focus: Lead the end-to-end preparation of complex SMSF financial statements and annual tax returns (SAR), executing high-level asset valuations and ensuring every fund ledger is technically sound.

  • Compliance Champion & Admin Ace: Verify that all fund operations, contribution caps, pension drawdowns, and investment strategies strictly align with the Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Act (SIS Act) and related Australian legislation.

  • Audit-Ready Always: Compile comprehensive, bulletproof compliance working paper binders for external auditors and prospective ATO audits, systematically eliminating compliance risks before lodgment.

  • Bridge Builder: Liaise professionally and confidently with Australian clients, independent fund auditors, and the ATO, serving as a credible technical point of contact to resolve sophisticated queries.

  • Deadline Dominator: Proactively manage the recurring compliance and lodgment calendar across a high-volume fund portfolio, maintaining complete visibility over task workflows without dropping the ball.

  • Team Player & Technical Mentor: Collaborate closely with public practice colleagues to maintain premium service delivery standards, openly sharing superannuation insights to elevate the team's collective technical capacity.

What You Bring

  • The Experience: Demonstrated hands-on experience specializing in SMSF accounting and compliance, ideally backed by a deep background within an Australian public accounting firm.

  • BGL Power User: Expert-level mastery of BGL Simple Fund 360 is essential. You know how to maximize the platform's automation, map intricate corporate actions, and resolve platform reconciliation errors independently.

  • Tax & Structure Fluency: Strong broader Australian taxation knowledge. Additional experience preparing individual, trust, partnership, and company tax returns is highly regarded.

  • Technical Mastery: A strong conceptual grasp of complex superannuation events, including Transfer Balance Caps (TBC), Total Super Balance (TSB) rules, contribution limits, property investments with LRBAs, and transition-to-retirement (TRIS) structures.

  • Tech Stack Fluency (Preferred): Familiarity with cloud ecosystems such as Xero, XPM (Xero Practice Manager), FYI Docs, and Ignition is highly advantageous for seamless pipeline execution.

  • Advanced Tax Thinker: A solid understanding of capital gains tax (CGT) concessions, trust distribution mechanics, and small business tax entities to add deep value to family-group wealth ecosystems.

  • Communication Prowess: Elite written and verbal English communication skills, with the personal confidence to draft clear technical queries and hold credible client-facing conversations.

  • The Credentials: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. An active CPA or CA qualification is strongly preferred and will heavily underpin your financial authority.
