We are seeking a hands-on, forward-thinking Senior Financial Accountant to serve as a Finance Business Partner for an Australian manufacturing and logistics client. You will manage end-to-end accounting processes, lead month-end closes, and drive cloud software integration across Xero, Deputy, and Unleashed while actively partnering with cross-functional department heads to optimize business performance, COGS, and operational efficiency.
Your Impact
Core Accounting & Month-End Close: Maintain transactional accuracy, reconcile bank accounts and corporate cards, post accruals and depreciation, bring books to trial balance, and deliver weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial packs.
Payroll & Workforce Integration: Execute weekly payroll, deductions, leave accruals, and Single Touch Payroll (STP) filings; manage employee onboarding and synchronization between Xero and Deputy.
AP/AR & Cash Flow Management: Monitor financial inboxes, manage Accounts Payable payment runs, handle Accounts Receivable invoicing and collections, and resolve credit/debit discrepancies.
Finance Business Partnering: Collaborate with Operations, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Sales leaders to optimize financial performance, review COGS and overtime metrics, develop pricing models, and support annual budget setting.
Process Automation & Strategic Insights: Champion digitization across Xero, Deputy, and Unleashed (inventory and production management), build KPI dashboard reports, support ATO/BAS compliance, and assist with special projects such as R&D grant applications and capital financing.
What You Bring
Education & Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Industry & Technical Experience: Proven experience in financial accounting and business partnering, with strong exposure to Manufacturing, FMCG, Warehousing, or Supply Chain environments.
Software Expertise: Deep proficiency in Xero, Deputy (rostering/timesheets), Unleashed (inventory & production management), and Microsoft 365 (advanced Excel).
Australian Taxation & Compliance Knowledge: Solid understanding of Australian GST rules, BAS preparation, STP reporting, Payday Super, and statutory deadlines.
Core Skills: Exceptional analytical ability, continuous process improvement mindset, high attention to detail, and outstanding written and verbal English communication skills.
