Unlock Your Potential!

At TOA Global, we have a deep commitment to empowering individuals to excel in their enterprises, careers, and communities. Our global footprint stretches across Australia, New Zealand, North America, and the Philippines, supporting our global clients across the accounting, finance, and professional services industries.

As a Senior Accountant, you are the critical engine driving technical execution, group-level compliance, and data integrity for high-net-worth Australian family groups, companies, and complex trust structures. This role is built for a highly disciplined professional who views a review as a final technical check, not a first-pass correction exercise. Operating autonomously in a remote setup, you will establish full technical ownership of client files—from sophisticated Division 7A strategy and trust distribution reconciliations to high-level investment platform integrations.

Your Impact

  • Advanced Group & Trust Compliance: Own the end-to-end preparation of complex trust, company, partnership, and individual tax returns. Manage intricate trust income components—including capital gains (utilizing accurate CGT discount methods), Foreign Income Tax Offsets (FITO), franking credits, and AMIT managed fund attributions—ensuring all components reconcile seamlessly at the beneficiary group level.

  • Division 7A & Inter-Entity Architecture: Proactively analyze prior-year balance sheets to identify related-party loan positions across complex groups without prompting. Execute minimum repayment calculations and maintain complete, consistent transaction strings (loans, distributions, and management fees) across Xero ledgers.

  • Investment & Wealth Reconciliation: Reconcile complex investment portfolios back to primary platform statements (Praemium, Sharesight, or equivalent). Accurately code and characterize dividends, corporate actions, buys, sells, and attributable capital events, ensuring the data layer perfectly supports client performance reporting.

  • Operational & Bookkeeping Oversight: Direct the workflow of the bookkeeping team through automated task allocation via FYI Docs. Oversee the End-of-Month (EOM) pipeline, ensuring accurate execution of accruals, depreciation, and tax provision journals before delivering polished management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) to the Director.

  • Superannuation & Structural Insight: Apply a strong conceptual understanding of how personal/employer super contributions, deductibility thresholds, and Division 293 implications interact with the broader corporate and trust environments.

  • Proactive Lodgment & Task Management: Maintain complete control over the firm’s XPM and FYI pipelines. Update job statuses daily, flag workflow bottlenecks, manage the lodgment calendar proactively, file lodgment deferrals well ahead of time, and process incoming ATO correspondence on the day of receipt.

What You Bring

  • The Experience: Minimum 4 to 5 years of dedicated experience within an Australian public accounting firm. You have a deep history of handling high-volume compliance for multi-entity structures and investment-heavy portfolios.

  • Software Ecosystem Expertise: Expert-level mastery of Xero, Xero Tax, and XPM (Xero Practice Manager). You are highly proficient with advanced features like Find and Recode and custom report templates. Practical experience with FYI Docs and structured workpaper frameworks (such as Business Fitness Active WP) is strongly preferred.

  • Technical Mastery: Uncompromising workpaper discipline. You ensure every single line of a balance sheet (including nil movements) is fully backed by an accurate workpaper binder before submission.

  • Platform Advantage (Preferred): Hands-on knowledge of BGL Simple Fund 360 is a distinct advantage, though the ability to conceptually evaluate SMSF interactions within a broader family group is what matters most.

  • Communication Prowess: Elite written and verbal English skills. You can draft clear, precise technical queries and client-ready correspondence for final Director review.
