Our global footprint stretches across Australia, New Zealand, North America, and the Philippines, supporting our global clients across the accounting, finance, and professional services industries.
We are seeking a versatile, detail-driven Intermediate Accountant to support a growing Australian public practice servicing SME clients, high-net-worth individuals, and multi-entity groups. You will manage Australian tax compliance drafting, interim tax planning, year-end financial reporting, and end-to-end job administration under the guidance of the Practice Principal.
Your Impact
Tax Compliance & Returns: Prepare Australian Income Tax Returns across all entity types—Individual (ITR), Company (CTR), Trust (TTR), and Partnership (PTR)—alongside Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Income Activity Statements (IAS).
Interim Tax Planning & Financial Reporting: Prepare pre-EOFY tax planning workpapers (interim actuals plus projected Q4 revenue), draft trust and company distribution options ahead of June 30, and compile year-end financial statements with standardized supporting workpaper packages.
Bookkeeping & ATO Administration: Provide day-to-day bookkeeping support (transaction coding, payroll setup, bank and GST reconciliations in Xero) and handle ATO portal administration, including running balance account reviews and Notice of Assessment retrievals.
End-to-End Job Administration: Track job statuses in Xero Practice Manager (XPM), chase missing client documents, and draft client signing packages via Xero Sign to ensure seamless file review by the Practice Principal.
What You Bring
The Experience: 2 to 4 years of direct public practice experience preparing Australian tax returns, financial statements, bookkeeping, and BAS files within an Australian accounting firm.
Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field (a Philippine CPA license is a distinct advantage).
Technical Mastery: Advanced hands-on experience using Xero, Xero Tax, and Xero Practice Manager (XPM), backed by intermediate-to-advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Google Workspace skills.
Core Competencies: Solid understanding of Australian tax legislation, GST, depreciation, and standard workpaper indexing; exceptional attention to detail; and excellent written and verbal English communication skills for professional client correspondence.
