We are seeking a detail-driven, experienced Intermediate Accountant to support our Tax and Business Advisory team. You will manage cloud bookkeeping via Xero, execute month-end reconciliations and management reporting packs, prepare Australian tax compliance workpapers, and handle BAS, IAS, and payroll processing.
Your Impact
Bookkeeping & Cloud Accounting: Maintain accurate books for Australian business clients primarily using cloud accounting software like Xero.
Reconciliations & Month-End Reporting: Prepare month-end reconciliations (bank, payroll, balance sheet) and build month-end management reporting packs and financial analysis using Excel templates.
Tax Compliance & BAS Preparation: Prepare Australian tax compliance workpapers, supporting schedules, Business Activity Statements (BAS), Instalment Activity Statements (IAS), and payroll processing cycles.
Client & Team Collaboration: Request documentation directly from clients, liaise with managers regarding job progress and deadlines, maintain rigorous working papers, and escalate discrepancies appropriately.
What You Bring
Education & Credentials: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline.
The Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience within an Australian public practice accounting firm, featuring strong exposure to Australian tax compliance, bookkeeping, payroll, and month-end accounting.
Software Mastery: Essential, demonstrated experience using Xero, with familiarity in MYOB or other accounting software considered an advantage.
Core Competencies: Intermediate-to-advanced Microsoft Office skills (with proficient Excel capabilities for budgeting and reporting), strong organizational and time-management skills, effective written and verbal communication, and a positive, team-oriented attitude toward continuous learning.
