As the SMSF Accountant Manager, you will lead a dynamic team of 10 developing accountants who undertake critical financial data processing activities. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for our Philippines-based team, collaborating closely with the Australian Team Leader to ensure flawless work delivery and service expectations. You will guide workflow, lift junior team member capabilities, and rapidly expand your own technical expertise in Self-Managed Superannuation Fund (SMSF) processing and administration using Class software.
Your Impact
Team Workflow & Delivery: Allocate work across the team, monitor workload and capacity, identify bottlenecks early, and ensure strict adherence to service deadlines.
People Supervision & Development: Lead regular 1-on-1 coaching sessions, provide constructive feedback, recognize strong performance, and partner with the Australian Team Leader to address development needs and manage recruitment or onboarding.
Quality Control & Output: Monitor output consistency, review work as needed, identify recurring errors or capability gaps, and provide technical coaching to elevate overall team quality.
Partnership Optimization: Establish robust working relationships with Australian-based leaders, ensuring a smooth, two-way information flow regarding team performance, risks, and opportunities.
SMSF Skill Expansion: Leverage your Australian Business Services foundation to rapidly develop deep expertise in SMSF data processing, fund administration, and accounting practices using Class software.
What You Bring
The Experience: 4 to 6+ years of experience in Australian Business Services accounting, including financial statements preparation, working papers, tax compliance, and client service delivery. Prior exposure to SMSF is highly desirable.
The Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or an equivalent professional qualification.
Technical Mastery: Strong understanding of Australian accounting frameworks, compliance obligations, and a demonstrated willingness and capability to learn SMSF processing, administration, and accounting practices.
Leadership Capability: Prior experience supervising, mentoring, or coaching team members within an accounting environment, or a clear, demonstrated readiness to step into a leadership role.
Communication Prowess: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with a proven ability to provide constructive feedback and resolve issues confidently.
