Unlock Your Potential!
At TOA Global, we have a deep commitment to empowering individuals to excel in their enterprises, careers, and communities. Our global footprint stretches across Australia, New Zealand, North America, and the Philippines, supporting our global clients in the accounting and wealth management sectors.
As an Intermediate Accountant, you will serve as a specialized technical resource in the cross-border and expatriate tax landscape. This role is designed for an analytical accountant who wants to move beyond standard local taxation and master complex U.S. federal compliance for High-Net-Worth Individuals (HNWIs) with multi-jurisdictional financial profiles. Working in a full-time remote capacity, you will bridge the gap between dual-country financial data and precise tax reporting.
Your Impact
Expat & HNWI Tax Architecture: Lead the preparation of complex U.S. individual tax returns for High-Net-Worth clients possessing intricate U.S. and Australian tax connections.
Foreign Informational Filings: Manage specialized international disclosures, compiling critical foreign informational filings for offshore corporations, foreign trusts, and Passive Foreign Investment Companies (PFICs).
Data Collection Coordination: Partner directly with clients and onshore managers to coordinate complex information requests, streamlining the international tax data collection process.
Agency Compliance & Resolution: Assist with essential IRS and state compliance matters, managing tax extensions, auditing accounts, and preparing formal responses to official agency tax notices.
Tax Issues Research: Conduct initial technical research on cross-border tax issues and regulatory updates that arise during return preparation, proposing accurate data adjustments.
Professional Correspondence: Draft high-standard client correspondence and technical explanations, translating dense tax structures into clear, professional summaries.
What You Bring
The Experience: 2–3 years of dedicated U.S. Tax experience. While direct experience with Expatriate Tax Management is highly ideal, we are very happy to consider strong candidates with other types of U.S. tax backgrounds—including U.S. Corporate Tax or U.S. Domestic Individual Tax experience.
Technical Mastery: A solid, working knowledge of the U.S. tax code, tax preparation software, and multi-layered international filing demands. You possess the analytical mindset required to spot reporting errors across dual-currency portfolios.
The Toolkit: High proficiency in spreadsheet software and digital tax ecosystems. You are an agile learner who can adapt quickly to changing international tax rules and fast-paced shared services workflows.
Communication Skills: Superior written and verbal English communication skills, essential for drafting executive-level client responses and collaborating with cross-border teams.
The Mindset: An independently motivated professional who thrives equally in a remote team setting, demonstrating an active enthusiasm for technical upskilling.
