We are seeking an enthusiastic, detail-driven Graduate SMSF Accountant to join our team in supporting Australian client firms with self-managed superannuation fund (SMSF) accounting and compliance. You will process fund transactions, prepare financial statements, and ensure adherence to superannuation laws and ATO regulations.
Your Impact
SMSF Financial & Tax Reporting: Prepare annual financial statements, tax returns, and compliance documentation for self-managed superannuation funds under supervision.
Transaction Processing: Process fund transactions, including member contributions, pension payments, and investment transactions across diverse portfolio structures.
Statutory Compliance: Assist in ensuring fund operations comply with ATO regulations, the Superannuation Industry (Supervision) (SIS) Act, and broader superannuation legislation.
Audit Preparation & File Finalization: Work closely with senior accountants and managers to finalize SMSF workpapers and assist client managers with technical queries and reporting.
What You Bring
The Experience: 0 to 1+ years of SMSF accounting experience within an Australian accounting firm environment.
Technical Knowledge: Foundational knowledge of the SIS Act, ATO requirements, SMSF rules, and superannuation compliance standards.
Software Competency: Practical exposure or training in specialized SMSF administration software (Class Super, BGL Simple Fund 360, or similar platforms).
Core Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, keen attention to detail, ability to deliver to strict deadlines, and clear written and verbal English communication.
