Unlock Your Potential!

At TOA Global, we have a deep commitment to empowering individuals to excel in their enterprises, careers, and communities. Our global footprint stretches across Australia, New Zealand, North America, and the Philippines, supporting our global clients in the accounting industry.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytically driven Cost Accountant to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of inventory records, cost valuations, and work-in-process reporting, while also maintaining commission calculations and supporting month-end close activities. This position offers a unique opportunity to expand beyond core cost accounting into broader finance functions — including fixed asset accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and Controller-level support — making it an ideal fit for a finance professional who is eager to grow into a well-rounded, high-impact contributor.

Your Impact

  • Cost Records Custodian: Prepare and maintain cost-related financial reports, including work-in-process (WIP), cost of goods sold (COGS), cost variance analysis, gross margin, and inventory valuation and aging schedules.

  • Analytical Precision: Conduct thorough cost analysis — encompassing direct materials, labor, and overhead — to determine accurate product costs and assess overall cost efficiency across the organization.

  • Commissions Architect: Maintain and manage sales managers' commission calculations on Excel spreadsheets, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and strict adherence to company policies.

  • Month-End Authority: Execute month-end close processes including generating reports, preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and completing all required closing procedures in a timely manner.

  • Reconciliation Steward: Perform assigned balance sheet reconciliations and support fixed asset accounting, including tracking, rollforwards, and related reporting obligations.

  • Data-Driven Insight: Utilize analytical tools and techniques to examine cost data, identify emerging trends, and deliver actionable recommendations that support cost control and operational optimization.

  • GAAP Guardian: Apply a solid command of GAAP accrual accounting principles to ensure the proper recognition, recording, and reporting of costs and expenses across all relevant accounts.

  • Reporting Excellence: Prepare comprehensive monthly financial reports covering orders, revenue, purchases, and other key metrics to provide leadership with meaningful insight into business performance.

  • Planning Partner: Support budgeting and forecasting processes by compiling data, preparing schedules, and contributing to financial modeling and analysis efforts.

  • Cross-Functional Bridge: Collaborate with operations, sales, supply chain, and other departments to gather accurate data, enhance reporting quality, and deliver cost-related insights that inform strategic decision-making.

  • Process Innovator: Identify and help implement process improvements within cost accounting, commissions, and related finance functions to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and long-term scalability.

  • Controller's Cornerstone: Provide reliable backup support to the Financial Controller across month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and audit processes, ensuring continued accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

What You Bring

  • Academic Foundation: A Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field is required.

  • Accounting Acumen: A strong understanding of GAAP accrual accounting and cost accounting principles, with demonstrated experience in general ledger accounting and account reconciliations.

  • Manufacturing Mastery: Manufacturing cost accounting experience is very strongly preferred, along with familiarity with cost structures in a production or operations-driven environment.

  • Excel Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the capability to build and maintain complex spreadsheets, financial models, and reports with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Systems Proficiency: Hands-on experience navigating ERP systems and general ledger platforms, enabling efficient data extraction, reconciliation, and reporting.

  • Analytical Sharpness: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, complemented by exceptional organizational and time management capabilities.

  • Detail Devotion: A high degree of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail across all financial processes, reports, and communications.

  • Communication Clarity: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with the interpersonal effectiveness to engage professionally across all levels of the organization.

  • Collaborative Independence: The ability to work both independently and as a collaborative team member, managing multiple priorities effectively within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Broader Finance Exposure (Preferred): Practical experience in budgeting and forecasting support, commission analytics or incentive compensation processes, fixed asset accounting, ad hoc financial analysis, and providing senior-level Controller support.
