Interim Tax Planning & Projections: Compile pre-EOFY tax planning workpapers (combining interim actuals and projected Q4 revenue) and draft distribution options for trusts and companies ahead of June 30.
Financial Reporting & Standardized Workpapers: Prepare year-end financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and standardized supporting workpaper packages for commercial clients and foundations/NFPs to ensure seamless review by the Practice Principal.
Bookkeeping & Practice Administration: Provide ad-hoc bookkeeping support (bank reconciliations, transaction coding, payroll, GST reconciliations), track job statuses in Xero Practice Manager (XPM), handle client document chasing via Xero Sign, and administer ATO portal accounts and notices of assessment.
What You Bring
The Experience: 2 to 4 years of direct public practice experience preparing Australian tax returns, financial statements, bookkeeping, and BAS files within an Australian accounting firm.
Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field (Philippine CPA license is an advantage).
Technical Mastery: Advanced hands-on experience using Xero, Xero Tax, and Xero Practice Manager (XPM), backed by intermediate-to-advanced Microsoft Office capabilities and Google Workspace proficiency.
Core Competencies: Practical bookkeeping capabilities (bank feeds, payroll, balance sheet reconciliations); solid understanding of Australian tax legislation, GST, depreciation, and workpaper indexing; exceptional attention to detail; and excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
