We are seeking a mission-driven, technically expert Senior Accounting Consultant to partner with U.S.-based nonprofit organizations. Strategic Advisory & Budgeting: Provide in-depth budget variance analyses, assist with organizational budget development, and compile board-level financial materials to empower CFOs and client leadership in making high-stakes operational decisions.
Quality Assurance & Team Mentorship: Supervise and review the foundational accounting work of team members handling AP, AR, and reconciliations, ensuring rigorous compliance with nonprofit financial reporting standards.
Process Innovation: Collaborate directly with clients to review internal financial policies, streamline workflows, implement modern cloud accounting tools, and scale operational efficiency.
What You Bring
The Experience: 4 to 6 years of progressive accounting experience, with specialized expertise working within nonprofit organizations and managing complex funding or grant compliance structures.
Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or Master’s degree is highly preferred).
Technical Mastery: Strong command of U.S. GAAP and nonprofit-specific financial reporting standards (FASB guidelines), backed by proven experience leading month-end closes and managing fund accounting.
Core Competencies: Exceptional analytical thinking and attention to detail; collaborative leadership and mentoring capabilities; and superior written and verbal English communication skills for presenting financial insights to board members and client executives.
