Unlock Your Potential!
At TOA Global, we have a deep commitment to empowering individuals to excel in their enterprises, careers, and communities. Our global footprint stretches across Australia, New Zealand, North America, and the Philippines, supporting our global clients across the accounting, finance, and professional services industries.
We are seeking a detail-driven, project-focused Property Accountant with specialized experience in U.S. commercial construction and job cost accounting. You will manage project financial records, work in progress (WIP) reconciliations, progress billings, change order logs, and U.S. construction compliance documentation across general contracting, electrical, and energy projects.
Your Impact
Job Setup & Budget Administration: Set up new jobs in accounting systems using executed contracts and approved proposal estimates, establishing contract values, budgets, cost codes, billing terms, and retainage structures.
WIP Scheduling & Job Cost Analysis: Prepare and reconcile monthly Work in Progress (WIP) schedules, validate percentage-of-completion calculations with Project Managers, monitor budget-to-actual variances, and align general ledger data across back-end accounting systems (Foundation) and executive reporting modules (ProjectHQ, ExecutiveHQ).
Progress Billing & Construction Compliance: Administer customer progress billings (AIA-style schedules of values, T&M, or unit price) while ensuring full compliance tracking—including lien waivers, certificates of insurance (COIs), preliminary notices, and stored-material documentation.
Accounts Receivable & Subcontractor Oversight: Track project receivables, invoice approvals, retainage aging, and collection commitments, while reviewing subcontractor billings and purchase orders for correct job coding and contract alignment.
Month-End Close & Project Closeout: Support monthly close by reconciling project subledgers, accrued/unbilled costs, and WIP balances, while executing final job cost reconciliations and retainage releases at project closeout.
What You Bring
The Experience: Minimum 3 years of project accounting or job cost accounting experience in commercial construction, general contracting, electrical contracting, or related trades supporting U.S. operations.
Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent specialized construction accounting experience).
Technical Mastery: Proficiency with Foundation software (or comparable construction accounting systems) alongside ProjectHQ/ExecutiveHQ, backed by advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, large dataset reconciliations).
Core Competencies: Solid understanding of U.S. construction compliance standards (AIA billings, lien waivers, COIs, retainage, WIP, percentage-of-completion accounting); exceptional attention to detail; and clear English communication skills for collaborating with Project Managers and field leadership.
