We are seeking a detail-oriented, driven Junior Accountant to prepare tax returns, activity statements, and general ledger reconciliations for Australian client entities. You will handle full financial statement compilations, ledger data entry, and statutory compliance with the ATO and ASIC using Xero platforms.

Your Impact

• Taxation & Activity Statements: Prepare Income Tax Returns for Individuals, Partnerships, Companies, and Trusts, alongside Business Activity Statements (BAS), PAYG Instalments, and PAYG Payment Summaries.

• Financial Reporting & Ledger Maintenance: Perform accurate data entry, post general ledger entries, compile Profit & Loss Statements and Balance Sheets, and complete general ledger reconciliations.

• Statutory Compliance & Correspondence: Draft GST registrations, apply for ATO General Interest Charge (GIC) and late penalty fee remissions, prepare ASIC company renewal statements, and manage general ATO communications.

• Financial Compilations & Workpapers: Compile client management letters, draft client correspondence, and maintain clean digital audit trails using Xero Practice Manager and Xero Tax.

What You Bring

• Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Business (prerequisite); actively studying towards CPA or CA qualifications; active Xero Software certifications.

• Technical Software Skills: Hands-on proficiency with Xero ecosystems (including Xero Tax and Xero Practice Manager / XPM), familiarity with the ATO Portal, and intermediate-to-advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PDF tools, Outlook).

• Compliance Knowledge: Practical understanding of Australian taxation rules, general ledgers, activity statements, and corporate secretarial obligations.

• Core Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail, strong time-management skills, ability to meet strict compliance deadlines, and excellent written and verbal English communication.
