Unlock Your Potential!

At TOA Global, we are passionate about helping professionals thrive in their careers, businesses, and communities. With a global presence spanning Australia, New Zealand, North America, and the Philippines, we empower industry-leading professionals by providing world-class opportunities and support.

As an Electrical Switchboard Estimator, you are a critical technical architect in the Australian construction and power distribution landscape. This role is specifically designed for a high-level specialist with direct experience in Australian switchboard manufacturing. You won’t just be crunching numbers; you will be designing preliminary electrical solutions—from kiosks to 6000A distribution boards—ensuring every bid is technically sound, compliant with Australian Standards, and commercially competitive.

Your Impact

  • Technical Bid Architect: Review complex project specifications and drawings to prepare preliminary designs for switchboards, kiosks, and enclosures. Identify required suppliers and subcontractors, obtaining the competitive quotations needed to build a winning bid.

  • Precision Estimation: Prepare detailed cost calculations and estimates utilizing the client’s proprietary estimating packages. Document customer requirements throughout the bid phase to ensure absolute scope clarity and alignment with AU expectations.

  • Compliance & Standards Expert: Ensure all designs and estimates adhere to AS3000 and AS61439 standards. Your deep knowledge of Low Voltage (LV) and High Voltage (HV) systems (up to 33kV) will ensure that every proposal is safe, compliant, and ready for the Australian grid.

  • Collaborative Design: Liaise regularly with onshore Estimating and Engineering teams to conduct peer reviews of estimates. Select critical switchgear and components (Siemens, Schneider, ABB, Terasaki, etc.) based on specific applications and current ratings.

  • Project Documentation: Prepare draft letters of offer and complete all required tender documentation. Apply your knowledge of sheet metal construction and copper busbar systems to provide comprehensive, professional proposals.

What You Bring

  • The Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical switchboard estimating with a mandatory background in direct Australian switchboard manufacturing. You have a proven track record of estimating success in the AU market.

  • Technical Mastery: In-depth knowledge of high-current distribution boards (up to 6000A), PLC control panels, and Motor Control Centres (MCCs). You understand the nuances of Electrical Transportable Switchrooms, Kiosks, and cable containment systems.

  • The Credentials: Electrical Trade qualification or a Tertiary Engineering degree. You possess a strong understanding of Australian Standards (AS3000, AS61439) and international equivalents.

  • Component Knowledge: Expert familiarity with major brands including Siemens, Schneider, ABB, Terasaki, and S&S. You can design packaged electrical solutions based on complex drawings and client-specific construction standards.

  • The Mindset: A proactive "A-star" individual with a "WOW" factor in technical competence. You are a team player with exceptional communication skills and the ability to work independently to meet tight tender deadlines.
