We are seeking a self-driven, autonomous Intermediate Accountant to manage complex compliance work for Australian clients. You will independently draft full financial statements, prepare company, trust, and partnership tax returns, and leverage your technical expertise across Xero and MYOB platforms.
Your Impact
Tax Compliance & Returns: Accurately prepare and lodge company, trust, and partnership tax returns to strict deadlines.
Financial Statement Drafting: Independently draft full financial statements from adjusted trial balances—including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and statements of retained earnings—along with supporting workpaper file documentation.
Technical Escalation & Communication: Liaise directly with internal team members and Australian-based clients on complex technical matters requiring escalation.
Autonomous Workload Management: Manage your own portfolio and workflows efficiently with minimal supervision, demonstrating high accountability and problem-solving initiative.
What You Bring
The Experience: Proven, demonstrated experience preparing full financial statements (beyond basic data entry or trial balance reconciliation) within an Australian accounting compliance setting.
Software Mastery: Essential proficiency in Xero, MYOB, and XPM (Xero Practice Manager), with familiarity in BGL360 considered an advantageous plus.
Core Competencies: Strong technical knowledge across Australian tax and accounting standards, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the proven ability to work autonomously.
