As an Intermediate Bookkeeper, you are the vital engine behind the financial accuracy of a high-functioning Australian business. This role is designed for a technical professional who has moved beyond simple data entry into the realm of complex Balance Sheet reconciliations and intercompany transactions. You will take ownership of the full bookkeeping cycle, from daily bank feeds to the preparation of critical BAS and IAS lodgments, all while working within sophisticated ERP environments.
Your Impact
Complex Reconciliations: Perform end-to-end month and quarter-end reconciliations. Manage bank accounts and detailed Balance Sheet reconciliations, specifically focusing on intercompany and inter-trust transactions to ensure group-wide accuracy.
Tax Compliance Stewardship: Manage monthly and quarterly GST reconciliations. Take responsibility for the accurate preparation of Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS) in accordance with Australian tax standards.
ERP Mastery & GL Maintenance: Maintain the General Ledger with precision. Utilize advanced ERP systems to prepare monthly reports that serve as the foundation for critical cash flow analysis and management decision-making.
Creditor & Cash Flow Management: Take ownership of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). Manage creditor relationships, investigate discrepancies, process credit card charges, and ensure all payments are posted correctly to the GL within monthly deadlines.
Specialized Property Accounting: Assist with unique administrative financial tasks, including the preparation of annual tenant rent reviews and complex outgoings reconciliations.
Collaborative Support: Consult with internal stakeholders and external parties to resolve financial queries, providing high-level administrative and financial support to the broader finance team.
What You Bring
The Experience: At least 3 years of dedicated experience in a similar bookkeeping role for an Australian and Property Management Business. You have a solid grasp of the Australian Tax System, specifically Income Tax and GST nuances.
The Credentials: Graduate of a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or a related financial program.
Technical Mastery: Strong working knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems. Firsthand experience with MYOB Acumatica (MYOB Advanced) is strongly preferred and will be a significant advantage.
Operational Excellence: Exceptional attention to detail and advanced numeracy skills. You are a self-starter who can work independently in a remote environment while maintaining a "can-do" attitude to meet tight monthly deadlines.
Communication Prowess: Excellent written and verbal English skills, with the ability to listen effectively and communicate financial discrepancies clearly to both team members and external suppliers.
