Unlock Your Potential!

At TOA Global, we have a deep commitment to empowering individuals to excel in their enterprises, careers, and communities. Our global footprint stretches across Australia, New Zealand, North America, and the Philippines, supporting our global clients across the accounting, finance, and professional services industries.

We are seeking an accurate, curious Intermediate Financial Accountant to manage end-to-end accounting operations across internal firm workflows and a portfolio of growing client entities. In this 100% remote role, you will perform full-cycle client finance functions—including Australian payroll processing (STP Phase 2), weekly bank/AP/AR workflows, month-end workpaper preparation, management reporting packs, and process documentation. Operating on a stable day shift, you will work autonomously within established supervisory frameworks to maintain accurate ledgers, build standard operating procedures, and deliver clean, audit-ready financial records.

Your Impact

  • End-to-End Client Delivery: Perform weekly multi-tenant accounting operations, including zero-unreconciled bank reconciliations, AP/AR processing, payment run preparations, and debtor follow-ups across client portfolios.

  • Australian Payroll Administration: Execute pay runs in Xero Payroll, manage STP Phase 2 submissions, prepare superannuation batches, maintain leave accruals, and process new starters/terminations.

  • Month-End Close & Management Accounts: Post accruals and prepayments, perform balance sheet reconciliations, prepare first-cut management reporting packs with variance commentary, and update rolling cash flow actuals.

  • Process Documentation & Onboarding: Build and maintain a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) library, creating client-specific process maps, approval chains, and onboarding checklists to streamline scaling operations.

  • Internal Operations & System Cleanups: Maintain internal firm Xero files, handle chart of accounts restructures, execute historical data catchups, and support client system migrations.

  • Annual & Ad Hoc Support: Liaise with external tax advisors for year-end tax return completion, assist with budgeting models, and extract structured data for one-off financial analyses.

What You Bring

  • The Experience: 2 to 4 years of Australian accounting experience within a public practice firm, BPO/outsourced environment, or AU-based corporate finance team.

  • Credentials & Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce. CA/CPA qualification (commenced or intention to pursue) is preferred and supported. Xero Advisor and Payroll certifications are highly desirable.

  • Software Competency: Advanced Xero and Xero Payroll proficiency across multiple client tenants, paired with intermediate/advanced Excel or Google Sheets (pivots, lookups, clean workpaper design). Exposure to add-ons like Dext, Hubdoc, ApprovalMax, EzzyBills, Fathom, or Syft is a strong advantage.

  • Technical Mastery: Solid understanding of Australian GST mechanics, month-end workpaper preparation, STP Phase 2 payroll compliance, and management pack compilation.

  • Communication & Mindset: Excellent written English for client-facing commentary, strong multi-deadline autonomy, high curiosity to investigate variance trends, and a proactive drive suited to a fast-scaling firm environment.
