As an Accounts Support professional, you are the operational engine driving payroll and transaction integrity for the fast-paced Australian retail sector. This role is purpose-built for an accounting clerk who understands the nuances of workforce management and cloud-based accounting platforms. Operating in a fully remote setup, you won't just process numbers; you will ensure compliance with strict labor frameworks, manage cash flow touchpoints, and serve as a reliable anchor for retail staff inquiries.
Your Impact
End-to-End Payroll Management: Process comprehensive payroll for retail staff, taking full accountability for compliance with Australian Fair Work awards and superannuation obligations.
WFM & Systems Optimization: Utilize specialized workforce management and cloud accounting platforms—specifically Tanda and Xero—to track hours, verify roster data, and streamline disbursement workflows.
Banking & Ledger Integrity: Perform daily bank reconciliations across multiple merchant accounts and bank statements, ensuring retail sales and digital transactions match system records perfectly.
Accounts Payable Oversight: Support the Accounts Payable lifecycle by verifying, coding, and processing supplier invoices to ensure payments are executed seamlessly and on schedule.
Employee Relations & Data Security: Act as the primary, professional point of contact for employee payroll queries. Maintain strict confidentiality over all sensitive payroll and banking data within a remote workspace.
What You Bring
The Experience: At least 3 years of dedicated experience supporting Australian accounting workflows, preferably with exposure to the retail industry or multi-site payroll networks.
Technical Software Mastery: Practical experience using Xero and Tanda for time tracking and payroll processing is preferred, alongside strong Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills.
Regulatory Awareness: A solid baseline understanding of Australian Fair Work awards, retail industry pay rates, and superannuation guidelines.
The Mindset: A highly organized, detail-oriented professional who maintains a high degree of accuracy under tight payroll deadlines while working independently in a home-based environment.
Communication Prowess: Clear, empathetic, and professional verbal and written English communication skills to effectively handle staff and supplier inquiries.
